Homeschool Musical Theater Program

We launched our musical theater program in January of 2023 with Finding Nemo Jr. for our spring season and Beauty and the Beast Jr. for the fall season. We provide training in the fundamentals of acting, choreography, voice, stage performance, stage design, costume design, music composition for shows, and more. The spring season runs from January – May, and the fall season runs from August – November.

Homeschooler Cast and Rehearsals

Currently, our musical theater program rehearsals are Tuesday nights 5pm-8pm. We can create a second cast of homeschoolers with weekly rehearsals from 9am-12pm or 12pm-3pm during the week. Rehearsal days/time will depend on the availability of students and our director.

Shows

Each student in the program participates in the end-of-season show. Musical theater productions are performed at The Younts Center for Performing Arts in Fountain, Inn. The Younts Center auditorium seats about 400 people. The Homeschool Cast may have one show or several shows depending on the number of students in the cast, the skill level of participants, and the volunteer commitment to assist with all of the details in performing the show (costume design, tech crew, and more).

Auditions

Every student who is enrolled in our tuition-based theater program will participate in the show. Auditions are held to determine roles: major, minor, or ensemble. Auditions are finalized before rehearsals start.

Duration and Schedule

Each training session lasts 3 hours a week for a total of 12 training hours a month and 3 hours a night the week of the performance before the first show.

Policies & Pricing

The theater program costs $120/month per student with a 5% discount for siblings. See the Policies & Pricing page for details on payment dates, pricing, discounts, and scholarship applications.

Student Ages

Elementary, middle, and high school students are invited to participate in our musical theater track.

Flexibility and Adaptations

  • Tim St. Clair II can also direct stage plays for groups not interested in musical theater. Shows would be held at black box theater style at World Upside Down Arts Studio.
  • Adults can also participate in any stage play shows.
