Arts Summer Camps at World Upside Down

Jazz/Tap Dance | Greyson Rogers

June 5-9 and July 17-21 | Ages 8-17 | 1PM-3PM| $125/week

Learn the basics of Jazz dance, including the lindy ball change, pivot turns, jazz squares, chassés, isolations, and more! Tap shoes are not required.

Special Effects Makeup | Nick Wright

June 5-9 and July 24-28 | Ages 8-17 | 1PM-3PM | $145/week

Learn color theory for bruises, create scrapes/busted lips, character makeup and aging techniques, and make scar wax for cuts. Makeup and art materials included.

Cartoon Drawing | Marie Shumaker

June –  July | Ages 8-17 | 1PM-3PM | $145/week

Learn the fundamentals of cartoon sketching, shading, color blending, body proportions, and facial features in order to recreate fabulous cartoons. Each week has a different drawing theme.

Theater Makers | Caleb Woo

Learn inventive storytelling as you do a group project of designing a play or film, from the story and character creation all the way to set design and production planning.

Musical Theater Dance | Rennah St. Clair

Learn jazz-based dance techniques filled with Broadway-style music and choreography. This form of dancing emphasizes learning performance skills such as connecting with the audience and facial expressions.

Learn how to become confident with improv, stage movement, and expressing your emotions so you can feel confident with these fundamental skills.

Grow your artistic and creative skills as you learn fun and innovative ways to design sets and props for theater shows on a low budget.

Worship Dance | Sarah St. Clair

June 19-23 | Ages 6-17 | 1PM-3PM | $125/week

Learn how to worship the Lord through dance. This class combines ballet techniques, conditioning, and choreography to worship music. Wear leotards, leggings, and ballet slippers.

Costume Design | Nick Wright

Grow your artistic and creative skills as you learn fun and innovative ways to design costumes for theater shows on a low budget.

Hip Hop Dance | Greyson Rogers

June 26-30 and July 24-28 | Ages 8-17 | 1PM-3PM| $125/week

Also known as street dance, hip hop is an upbeat dance style that has become hugely popular. All music and dance moves are age appropriate!more!

Theater/Film Music Composition | Caleb Woo

Students explore storytelling through music as they learn the skills necessary to write their own music for solo instrument or small ensemble.

Musical Theater Dance | Greyson Rogers

July 4-7 | Ages 8-17 | 1PM-3PM| $125/week

Learn jazz-based dance techniques filled with Broadway-style music and choreography. This form of dancing emphasizes learning performance skills such as connecting with the audience and facial expressions.

Broadway Bootcamp | Tim St. Clair II

July 10-14 | Ages 8-17 | 12PM-4PM | $225/week

Students work on character creation, writing and performing monologues, choreography routines, and music culminating in a Friday show!

Basic Sewing | Sarah St. Clair

July 17-21 | Ages 8+ | 1PM-3PM | $125/week

Learn how to hem, stitch on a button, and sew a pillow case. Bring: sewing kit, thread (match primary cover of fabric), needles, scissors, 1 yard of fabric for the pillow, a clothing item to hem (skirt, shorts, or pants), and a thimble.

Policies, Pricing, and Scholarships

Cancellation Policy and Refunds

Cancelation is required in writing at least 15 business days (or three weeks) prior to camp start date. Cancellations received business 15 days prior to camp start date will result in a refund or system credit of amount paid. The 3% transaction fee is non-refundable.

June 5 camp: must cancel by Monday, May 15
June 12 camp: must cancel by Monday, May 22
June 19 camp: must cancel by Monday, May 29
June 26 camp: must cancel by Monday, June 5
July 3 camp: must cancel by Monday, June 12
July 10 camp: must cancel by Monday, June 19
July 17 camp: must cancel by Monday, June 26

Arts Summer Camp Teachers

Tim St. Clair II

Theater Director

Tim started the Mauldin Youth Theatre program in 2017 and the Mauldin Community Theater program in 2020, directing award-winning shows like In the Heights and Newsies. He was also the resident music director at the Greenville Theatre for 8 years. He has a BS in Vocal Performance from Northland University. Tim is the theater director and gives private lessons in theater and voice at our studio.

Greyson Rogers

Dance Teacher

Greyson is a digital artist, videographer, and photographer. After completing her degree, she decided to return to her first love--dance. With over 8 years of dance experience and a few years of teaching, she is excited about training and mentoring our students. She has a BA in Communication with a Digital Media concentration from Anderson University and teaches dance at our studio.

Marie Shumaker

Visual Arts Teacher

From an early age, she has enjoyed drawing, painting, and crafting, and being homeschooled provided her with opportunities and time to develop her artistic talents. Marie's love for art reflects her love for Jesus who is the Grand Creator. She delights to show her students the beauty and majesty of God through art. Marie is currently majoring in Studio & Digital Arts at Liberty University and teaches painting and drawing at our studio.

Nick Wright

Theater Teacher

Nick Wright has been in theater since he was the age of five and has grown up in the world of theater, music, and dance. He is currently studying for a BA in Theater and Music at Bob Jones University. Nick teaches theater, musical theater, FX makeup, and costume design for summer camps in our studio.

Sarah St. Clair

Dance Teacher

Since moving to South Carolina in 2010, Sarah has been a dance instructor at Artios Academy, Selah Ballet, and TDS Dance Studios. Sarah homeschools her six amazing daughters and runs her dance wear consignment boutique, Twice Upon a Tutu. She also hosts an amazing podcast for women called Sisters in the Spirit. She teaches beginner and intermediate ballet and worship dance at our studio.

Renah St. Clair

Dance Teacher

Rennah started performing in theater when she was five. She loves to be able to express herself and evoke feelings through movement. She has performed in shows like Newsies, Mary Poppins, and Frozen Jr. She loves empowering her students with creativity and imagination as they express themselves through theater and dance. Rennah teaches musical theater jazz/tap, hip hop, and modern dance at our studio.
