What makes the World Upside Down after school program so special?

Arts Education
Students take two hours off classes each day in music, visual arts, dance, or theater for a total of twelve hours of arts education each week.

Core Academics
We offer an hour a day of homework assistance to ensure that students are on target with core academics which include reading, science, history, and math.

Full-Time After School Program
This program runs Monday – Friday for elementary and middle school students. Students receive one hour of homework assistance daily. Mondays – Thursdays students receive two hours a day in music, visual arts, dance, or theater. They participate in themed shows which integrate all of the arts and rotate throughout the year. Fridays are for Show & Tell and Guest Speakers from the community. Parents are invited to attend if space allows.

Part-Time After School Program
This program runs Monday – Thursday for elementary and middle school students. Parents can choose two days for their students to attend. Students receive one hour of homework assistance each day. Mondays – Thursdays students receive two hours a day in music, visual arts, dance, or theater.

Community Performances
Students are invited to perform at local schools, retirement homes, and public events throughout the year. Participating in performances is optional.

Show and Tell
On Fridays, students perform for peers and parents in our Show and Tell with demonstrations in music, visual arts, dance, and theater.

Guest Speakers
We select members of our community whom we consider to be strong role models to come in as guest speakers. They share their stories, tell about their careers, and inspire our students to think beyond a world they already know as they plan for their own futures.
