World Upside Down Arts Studio is ready to start classes in video production, music production, and show production. We want to get your feedback on our offerings.  The classes listed below are ready to launch and can run both spring and fall semesters, and students can jump in at any time. Becoming a YouTuber 101

You may not know what to say to your kids when they say, “I want to be a YouTuber.” But now, the YouTube career path is a viable option. Zip Recruiter reports YouTubers are making an average of $56,000 a year, and people who fill roles like Vice President Youtube Channel, Director Youtube Channel, or Regional Channel Manager can make $128k-$151k a year. That may surprise you, but take a look at some of the hard and soft skills required to create and sustain YouTube content.

About This Course

Students learn how to create multiple streams of video content for the World Upside Down Arts Studio YouTube Channel. Content may include but is not limited to fun, entertaining marketing pieces, artist interviews, and curriculum content. Content will be published weekly, and students will be assigned production team roles so that they can learn the skills for each role and strengthen their skill set. Students who master the basics can then get support on developing their own content for their own channels.

Show Production

Lighting and sound are essential for successful concerts, dance shows, plays, musicals, and comedy sets along with live events like fundraisers, galas, awards shows, rallies, and gallery openings. Zip Recruiter reports lighting designers in South Carolina as making an average of $53k a year and junior audio-visual technicians in South Carolina range from $48-51k a year while senior audio-visual technicians earn between $101k-$121k a year. About This Course

Students learn the basics of lighting and sound technician work for a live show. Content for the course will focus on equipment and tools located at the Younts Center for Performing Arts in Fountain Inn, SC. Students who master the basics can get real-world experience and build their resumes by assisting with lights and sound for shows at the Younts Center.

Songwriting

Kristian aka KMO Morris is first a Christian who seeks to make the name of Jesus famous. He is also a Music Artist, Music Producer, Songwriter, and Recording/Mixing Engineer. A few of his original songs such as “The Garden” and “The Window” have become crowd favorites and can be listened to on all music platforms (Spotfiy, Apply Music, Google Play, etc.) 

About This Course

Creating original songs can be one of the most enjoyable and rewarding experiences for musicians. In this songwriting class, students learn the fundamentals of songwriting (song structure, poetry, and melody), arrangement, and music theory to compose original songs.

Duration: Class meets weekly for 1 hour
Students: Middle Schoolers – Adults
Days and Times: Tues/Thurs 1pm, 2pm, 3:30pm or 4:00pm or Wed 3:30pm or Fri 9am-5pm
Price: $85/month
Start Date: We can start this class as soon as we have a minimum of 4 students.

Music Production

Camden Atkins is a multi-threaded musician (bass guitar, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, and drums) as well as a songwriter and music producer. He has extensive live performance and in-studio recording experience both as a musician and a sound engineer.

About This Course

Music production is a multistage process that includes the conception of an idea, songwriting, composition, recording music, mixing, and mastering. In this class, students learn the fundamentals of music production as they take a song and leverage software like Logic Pro X for recording, editing, and distributing music.
